About Our Grants

The FBE funds grants to educators in the Belmont Public Schools to implement innovative programs and advanced technology that result in richer and deeper learning experiences for students. To date more than $4.4 million has been awarded in grants and assistance since 1993, and more than 1000 projects have been financed. Visit our FBE Impact page to view past grants awarded.

The FBE provides three avenues through which educators and administrators can seek funding for enrichment programs, curriculum, professional development, and technology. These include:

Apple Run $5K
$5000 of funds raised from our annual FBE Apple Run are reserved for grants from the physical education department.

The Chris Kochem Fund
$5000 is reserved annually for grants requesting a visiting artist, enriching the educational experience of students.

Program Committee 2024-2025

FBE Program Committee members serve as liaisons to the Belmont Public School staff and administrators who apply for grants. Program Committee members are assigned to each school and subject area to review and guide grant applicants through the funding process. Every grant application is reviewed by the entire Program Committee who make funding recommendations to the Board of Directors.
