Roger M. Mulford Scholarship Fund
Roger M. Mulford, was a longtime beloved Belmont High School art teacher who very generously left a bequest to the FBE to benefit deserving students in the pursuit and education of the fine arts.
During his tenure at Belmont High School, Roger Mulford created a safe space where students could find support and validation within the school. He represented much more than the arts as an elective - His open classroom allowed students to thrive and even survive. These funds honor his legacy by continuing to provide that kind of strong support and validation to students through financial awards and recognition.
Roger M. Mulford scholarship fund opportunities:
• The Roger M. Mulford Award: an annual award of $1000 (each) to 2 graduating seniors selected by the BHS art teachers for outstanding achievement in the visual arts.
Apply here.• Art Exploration Funds: funding available for projects, supplies and experiences proposed by Belmont Art Students. Applications will be reviewed by a committee established by the Foundation for Belmont Education. Funds are intended to encourage and enhance Belmont students exploration of the visual arts. Students of all skill and experience levels are welcome to apply. Apply here.
• Visiting artists program: throughout the year, the FBE, in conjunction with the BPS Arts will organize a combination of critiques for students, demos, and public lectures in the arts.
